Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks! I spent last year’s Canada Day watching fireworks and celebrating with my friends in the suburbs of Toronto. When I think back on that day, I never would have imagined that a year later I’d find myself living in Asia, dating a pretty outstanding guy, and getting ready to launch a new travel site; but that it exactly what I am doing. Oh, and I am wearing the same denim shirt I had on last Canada Day.
Sam and I have been working on an exciting new project over the past few weeks and it is finally ready for unveiling! So without further ado, I present to you:
Backpacking Travel Blog will really showcase our personal travel styles: cheap, resourceful, and always looking for adventure. We will be featuring destinations from around the globe with a strong focus on Asia and Latin America, photo essays, travel tips for those of you looking to embark on your own journey, and fun interviews with some of our friends who are doing epic things across the world.
So come have a look and leave us a comment telling us what you think!
You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter and Google+
p.s. To all my Canucks out there – enjoy the fireworks, roast some smores, and drink a few Molson Canadians in honour of our beautiful country.

Was a shame I didn’t celebrate Canada day here in Sydney as I was occupied with other things. Congrats on the launch for joint project. Hope you have as much fun with it as your personal blog.
