The EngRish Edition: I Feel Relatively Neutral About New York

by Audrey on July 17, 2012

T-shirt with funny English

“What does that even mean? And what is up with that blinding shade of neon?” are the two questions running through my mind. Every time I feel like I’ve finally gotten a handle on Korean fashion, they throw something like this my way… I spotted this t-shirt at a boutique near my house that usually sells very cute and flirty outfits; apparently it also caters to individuals who ‘feel relatively neutral about New York’. Quite the fashion statement when paired with the nautical themed hot pink scarf. ;) So, is there anyone out there who feels that way?

It’s making fun of the “I heart NY” shirts… right? They were trying to be clever?

Yeah, I can’t see very many people feeling ‘neutral’ about NYC. It’s one of those places you either love or hate.

I love it. It’s so perfectly ironic and ugly. It’s a hipster shirt I’d actually be willing to wear (to the gym).

I don’t feel that way, but I would love to wear this shirt around Paris — so many Parisians are obsessed with New York!

It would make you a fashion icon! Pair that with some black (because I hear that’s what Parisians wear…) and voila! :)

I WANT THIS! Not that it actually represents my feelings about New York….but it’s hilarious!

Well, if you’re ever in Korea, I know the perfect boutique for you. AND it comes in more than one colour! ;)

Now, I actually LOVE this Engrish – I don’t know if it even qualifies as Engrish? I also love the blinding shade of neon. YAY for ridiculously bright colours!

I’ve yet to see a t-shirt that beats one of my former student’s t-shirts, though – “I Have A Potty Emergency.”
